A good quality telescope can provide a lifetime of observing. The following is a photo of my vintage Meade model DS-10A, with the addition of a Celestron CGE Pro GOTO mount.

I purchased this 10-inch classic Newtonian reflector (Meade model DS-10A) almost 30 years ago and it continues to be the telescope I use the most.

It was the following advertisement that caught my eye in the late 80’s.  I wanted the DS-16A, but knew it would be too large and heavy, so I choose the 10-inch version.  A relatively economical scope, which “might” prove that it’s not necessary to spend a fortune on a telescope to enjoy the night sky.
